Writing Tools By: Roy Peter Clark
Another writing book to add to my pile. Among the obsession of normal book buying, I have become obsessed with all types of writing books. I'm hoping to finish a novel in the next year, so I'm sure these will come in handy.
This is about giving you the tools to help you become better at any form of writing you wish to pursue...
The Sweetness of Salt By: Cecilia Galante
I picked this up from the bargain section while on a shopping spree with my bestie @floralsngradons. The cover is just so bright, I was immediately attracted to it!
Julia has just graduated from high school and is ready to dive right into College. But when her older sister Sophie shows up, Julia's plans start to unravel from her hands. Possible heartbreak?
Ready,Set,Novel! By: Lindsey Grant, Tavia Stewart-Streit, Chris Baty
I have seen this book EVERYWHERE on the Instagram community feed! I have heard nothing but raves over how great this book is for anyone who enjoys writing.
This is a book to help all writers with their one kryptonite: Writers Block. This workbook helps you brainstorm stories, and give you exercises to get the creative juices flowing again!
The Last Letter form Your Lover By: Jojo Moyes
So of course everyone is talking about Me Before You (Which I do indeed own!) and I have had so many people tell me that I need to read it very soon! So of course by dodging that a tad, I ended up buying another one her Jojo's books.
Another heartbreaking novel about Jennifer Stirling, who has woken up in the hospital remembering nothing. The only thing that she knows, is someone has left her a letter signed simply "B". He seems to be risking everything, but is it what she wants him to do?
Me Since You By: Laura Wiess
Another book I found in the bargain section while out, and I had initially put it back, but when I went back a few weeks later, I decided to finally get the book!
This is the story of Rowan who is caught in the middle of a bad crowd who committed a traumatic crime. If she had known what was going to happen, she never would have cut school. But along the way she found her soulmate, and begins to realize that it is easy to help heal her wounded heart.
Game Over By: Adele Parks
This was also a bargain read! Sometimes you can really find a lot in these sections of cheaper priced books!
This is about Cas Perry who cannot to any relationship. After watching her father leave her and her mother years ago, she knew that love wasn't real nor was it worth it all... that is until she meets Darren. A man who thinks that you can find "the one" and that marriage is sacred. But is it enough to turn Cas' views on it all?
Cross My Heart, Hope to Die (The Lying Game #5) By: Sara Shepard
So I read a majority of Pretty Little Liars, and for the most part did enjoy it...that was until she kept writing more books, and there were so many "A's" it just went on for too long. However I did watch The Lying Game and knew that she wrote the books that became the show.
I have been collecting them all, and finally got the last Hard copy of the 5th book on sale at my bookstore! (Score! #winning) haha!! So without spoiling it, this is the story of two twins that have been separated at birth, and now have found each other and there are a lot of twists!
Rules of Summer (Rules of Summer #1) By: Joanna Philbin
Another bargain find amidst the amounts of bargain books!
Seventeen year old Rory has arrived in East Hampton to beautiful people wearing the most expensive of clothes. She is here to be an errand girl for one of the richest families there. Of course she steps into a romance, but could it be the one thing that sends her packing back home??
Sense and Sensibility By: Jane Austen
For my Book Club @clockworkreaders we were to read a book for the month of February...unfortunately I was not able to do it as I had a lot of school assignments and Exams to get through. But that doesn't mean that I will not be reading another classic come April!
This is the classic story of the prudent Elinor and her sister Marianne. They must learn from one another and must leave their home after their father's death, with potential (yet disappointing) suitors.
All The Bright Places By: Jennifer Niven
I have been wanting to get my hands on a copy of this book ever since it came out! I have heard nothing but rave reviews (as well as the fact that it's a Goodreads Winner for 2015!)
This book deals with a lot of serious talk, and I think that is what makes me so drawn to it. The fact that it's fiction, but about real life situations rather than a fantasy. Finch is fascinated by death and thinks about ways to kill himself, where Violet lives for the future and can't wait until graduation. But what happens when you put two people who are so opposite from one another?
The List By: Joanna Bolouri
I picked this up in the sale section again (I know I know, so many cheap books!)
This is about Phoebe who has been single for a year after finding her ex with another women. But now she is a new woman, who has a list. Ten things she has wanted to try in bed, but never had the guts to do so! A bucket list for the hopeless romantic?
Love in Rewind (Audio Fools #1) By: Tali Alexander
I received this book for review by Tali herself, and to be honest, I have seen it around and have been wanting to read it for a while, but never got the chance to get it! Also the cover on this book is GORGEOUS!!
Emily has two kids, a nanny, a housekeeper, cook and everything she has ever wanted. That all changes when her husband Louis starts to pull away and become secretive. Is it possible for Emily and Louis to go back to when things were much easier??
Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles #3.5) By: Marissa Meyer
So most of you probably know that I have started reading the Lunar Chronicles with my Book Club.
Without spoiling anything, since I have only read Cinder so far, all I know is that this novella is about Queen Levana and her story before she was viewed as possibly the worst person ever!
How to Be Single By: Liz Tuccillo
This novel has been turned into a movie, and to be honest I didn't even know it was a book! But of course like anyone who loves to read, tends to read the book before the movie. I have dared to watch the movie first sometimes (Shh!! Don't tell anyone!)
This is about Julie Jenson whose friend Georgia's husband leaves her for a younger, hotter woman, she thinks that it's time to go on a vacation to remember what it's like to be single.
Self-Editing for Fiction Writers By: Renni Browne and Dave King
I was on Instagram one day and saw an author who received this book as a gift. Of course I have a great friend who is also writing a novel, and thought that it would be a great book to have to help with the editing process.
This book is a tutorial to help anyone learn how to polish fiction writing.
The Gilded Razor By: Sam Lansky
I won this book from Twitter thanks to the lovely people at Simon and Schuster Canada (thanks again!!)
This is a memoir of Sam Lansky and his life starting from the age of seventeen. the all-star student getting ready to graduate, starts to get addicted to prescription pills, which begins a downward spiral of affairs, overdose, and leaving his bright future. Sam has made this an coming-of-age story searing honest and a powerful new voice to the confessional genre.
This is all for my Book Haul for the month of February!! I also have a few books in mind to be getting, so you can be sure there will be plenty for March!!
So until the next time, Keep Reading!!
Your Graduated Bookworm!! :)
