Five years later they're about to hit the big time--Chaos wins a recording contract and nationwide tour with Torrence Records. After their celebration party, the two best friends have a one-night stand that will tear their relationship apart.

On the run from Jimmy's rejection, Nessa takes off on her motorbike, but an accident brings her escape to a tragic end. Now trapped in a broken body, Nessa has to face a future stripped of the one thing that's gotten her through ever past challenge--playing the drums.

Jimmy never meant to break his best friend's heart, and he will forever regret taking her to bed then treating her like one of his groupies. But once he's crossed that line, he couldn't go back. Now Jimmy is on a mission to do something he's never done before--win a girl over.

Angry and confused by her new disability, Nessa doesn't want Jimmy's help. But she has nobody else to rely on...and his pigheaded ass won't leave her alone. Can thee two stubborn hearts get past their own insecurities to figure out what true love really looks like? Or will they drive each other crazy before they finally see the truth?

It's infuriating, irresistible, and all-consuming...it's true love.

Review:
Best Songbird novel so far for me!! Wow! That's all I can really say! I remember reading a little bit about Nessa and Jimmy from the first songbird novel, and I am extremely happy to have read their story!!

The story starts off immediately, and you get a total understanding of what has happened shortly before Nessa's accident to present. Throughout the novel there were a lot of song references, and I must say, it was great. I think the choices were perfect, because at those moments, I was literally humming each and every song along with the story, and it made me feel all the feels along with it! Nessa had gone from an amazing rush, pure love, to devastating lows, and hardships she had to try to fight her way past. Nessa had bared it all to Jimmy, telling him how she felt and how their one night was pure bliss, yet he just let her go like yesterday's newspaper....
mean girls that is so not right

Continuing on, you get little flashbacks of what Nessa's life was like before she lived in LA with Rosie, her Grandmother. There were points where I was wondering how she managed to live the way she was, while being treated, knowingly, like the black sheep of the family. I think that her living with Rosie was definitely the best thing that could have happened. Having that type of negativity she was having at home, and constantly being told that she should act more like her brother can really have a dark and deep impact on a girls life, especially Nessa.

Living your life where there was a main focus to keeping you sane is what makes us all human. I think that for Nessa, being able to play the drums is what kept her alive and able to release her frustrations out. Being pretty much disowned by family, and then losing the one person who knew you for who you were meant to be is rough. I could feel the pain that Nessa was feeling throughout the novel, and let me tell ya...it was HEARTBREAKING!! Cue the ugly crying now!

So after the fact that Nessa is now considered disabled in her eyes, and completely worthless (which was hard to understand!) here is Jimmy. The person she has always loved, trying to help her get back on track. When you can no longer do the things you loved doing, why even try right? Well that's where a lot of fighting, tension, love, perusing, and victory comes through!

Jimmy may have made a complete ASS of himself by letting Nessa go the first time (even if it was for "good intentions") but he was here. He wanted to be the one she could lean on. The one to hold, the one to wipe the tears when she couldn't get back up. He wanted to be her everything, but it took losing her to notice that....

Throughout the novel you get a sense that Nessa is trying her best to keep her brick wall up, so that no one could get a chance to tear it down after all she has gone through. This girl has been through hell and back on her own, and can't find it in herself to realize that she has a loving family standing right in front of her, wanting her to be the Nessa she used to be. They may not be blood related but Chaos is all she has. There is so much love and passion between the band-mates, you can honestly feel it!

Now normally I would put what my favourite quote is from the novel, but it was so hard to find a favourite one. Like the entire book was my favourite... but OKAY since you're asking! It was actually the last line of the novel:

"Standing there, performing with my guys, I found perfect peace in Chaos, and I knew hat I' be doing this for as long as possibly could"

The amount of sacrifice that went on was amazing, and you could feel the tension, the struggle, the heartache and heartbreak for Nessa and Jimmy. But through it all there was a lot of fighting for what they believed in, and sometimes it takes looking into the mirror to realize that your life isn't over...but beginning in a new path you never thought possible. Sometimes the loss of something is actually a blessing in disguise, and for Nessa, I think she found it...

Overall, I loved the writing style. I loved how even throughout the novel, there was not a lot of talk about how Nessa's disability was the main focus. I loved how reading it, I was able to feel everything she felt, as well as Jimmy, and that you could really see the story evolve, and become what it is. The pain and suffering was hard to read, but I loved how real it all felt! It was as if I was in the story, and that rarely happens!

So there is my review for True Love. I hope you enjoyed it, and I urge you to check out this series! I recommend reading book one to get an overall concept before you dive into any others!!

So until the next time! Keep Reading!
